One of my all-time favourite Oceania Cruises was aboard Regatta from San Francisco on an 11-night sailing around Alaska. We name our Alaska packages “Spectacular Alaska” for a reason – it really is.
Sure, you may see big ship cruise-lines that seem cheaper, but they only offer a standard 7-night run. They focus on the main centres and stay in port for shorter periods – often only half a day. Oceania’s smaller ships mix in authentic local ports and stay for the whole day.
Many port towns double or triple in population when the big cruise ships tie up. It’s amazing to see them return to their natural state when the mega ships sail off early. That’s the beauty of cruising on a smaller, upmarket ship – less people, longer stays and outstanding personal service. You’ll chuckle when you pass long lines of people, standing in the hot sun, for their 5,ooo passenger mega-ship – while you jump straight onto your 685 guest Oceania ship.

Their larger ships Marina, Riviera & Vista also feature… Red Ginger for Asian Fusion. My personal favourite is “Jacques” for the most incredible French Cuisine.
